After 20 years in our current hospital we’re proud to announce the move to our brand-new Animal Referral and Emergency Centre location, a purpose-built referral and emergency facility designed to offer the very best care for pets, their families and our referring vet partners.
Our move date is set for Wednesday, 19 November 2025.
Our expanded hospital means faster diagnostics, more treatment options, and even greater comfort for every patient who comes through our doors.
Purpose-built for calm, comfort and care
Our new hospital has been designed to make every visit less stressful for pets and their families, while giving our staff the space, technology and visibility to work more effectively together.
Comfort and calm
- Separate dog and cat wards provide peaceful recovery spaces tailored to each species.
- A dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) allows close, continuous monitoring for critically ill pets.
- Our larger reception area, larger treatment area and eight consulting rooms ensures smooth, coordinated care even during busy emergency periods.
Advanced technology
- Our new CT machine delivers precise, fast imaging for quicker diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Two fully equipped surgical suites allow for a wide range of advanced and emergency procedures.
- The hydrotherapy underwater treadmill supports pets through rehabilitation and mobility recovery with gentle, low-impact exercise.
Expanded emergency capacity
We know emergencies can happen at any time. Our new design and larger space mean we can now care for more pets in need, ensuring timely attention when every minute counts.
Strengthening our referral services
We’re also expanding the services we offer to referring vets, providing a trusted extension of care for complex or ongoing cases. Our key referral areas now include:
- Rehabilitation and hydrotherapy
- Surgery (orthopaedic, soft tissue, emergency and more)
- Ophthalmology
- Behavioural medicine
- Advanced imaging (including CT)
We value our partnerships with local vets and are committed to open, collaborative communication throughout every referral case.
What to expect during our move
AREC will be closed during the day for emergencies and referrals on Wednesday, 19 November while we move:
Closing 9am and reopening at Perth Road at 6pm
Patients in our care on the morning of the move will be discharged to their primary care veterinarian or discharged to home. We will transfer critical patients to the new premise on the day.
We can’t wait to welcome you to our new hospital from 19 November.
The AREC team.
