AREC ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Purpose:
The purpose of a zero-tolerance policy is to establish clear guidelines and expectations regarding specific behaviours or actions that are deemed unacceptable or against the policies of AREC. The policy, and related policies help protect individuals, maintain order, and promote a positive and inclusive environment.
Policy:
Respectful Conduct:
a. All clients must treat staff members, veterinarians, and other clients with respect, courtesy, and professionalism.
b. Verbal abuse, threats, harassment, intimidation, damage to property or assets or any form of disrespectful behaviour towards the Hospital’s staff or other clients will not be tolerated.
Compliance with Instructions:
a. Clients are expected to follow the instructions and guidelines provided by the Hospital’s staff and veterinarians regarding the care, treatment, and handling of their animals.
b. Failure to comply with instructions that may compromise the health, safety, or welfare of animals or individuals may result in immediate termination of services.
Animal Welfare:
a. Clients must ensure the well-being and safety of their animals during their visit to the Hospital.
b. Any mistreatment, neglect, or abuse of animals will not be tolerated and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Non-Payment and Disruptive Behaviour:
a. Clients are expected to fulfill their financial obligations promptly and in accordance with the Hospital’s policies and payment terms.
b. Disruptive behaviour, including refusal to pay for services rendered, will not be tolerated and may result in termination of services and legal action to recover outstanding fees.
Consequences:
Violation of this Zero Tolerance Policy may result in the following actions, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense:
· Warning and verbal reminder of policy expectations.
· Refusal of service.
· Termination of the client-patient relationship.
· Legal action to recover unpaid fees or address misconduct.
The determination of violations and subsequent actions will be at the sole discretion of the Hospital’s management.
Amendments and Updates:
The Hospital reserves the right to modify or update this Zero Tolerance Policy at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes through appropriate channels.
