What have previous students have said about their placement with AREC?
"The best parts of the rotation for me were a high caseload that allowed me to see a wide range of the types of cases in emergency medicine, getting to rotate through different parts of the hospital and the support from the staff at every level from AA up to veterinarians. Every time I had a question (about anything from a technical skill to generic “life as a veterinarian” type things) someone as always willing to sit down and answer it for me and made me feel very comfortable and willing to ask questions which helped me learn” - Joshua Coward, 2022
"The staff were very inclusive and had a wealth of knowledge they were willing to share. The attitude towards having students as well as the interactions directly with me were so positive and supportive, it was a pleasure to work with the team" - Emma Swilks, 2022
“The amazing staff. the cases seen, how everyday was something different and exciting and the entire experience was just amazing”
- Maya Boxler, 2022
"The timetable was really reasonable so I was able to focus and lean well without feeling burnt out. The staff were all so welcoming and made me feel like a valued member of the team straight away. I got to experience my first Aussie tick season (it was wild). I feel so much more prepared for my next season when am a real vet" - Natasha (Tatty) Young, 2022
“Seeing many emergency presentations from seizures. snake bites, pot tax, foreign body ingestion (used tampon), ruptured splenic masses, blocked cats and being able to scrub in for ER surgeries (Caesarian, splenectomy, Spey wound dehiscence)” - Stephanie Pan, 2022
"The variety was great I saw a wide range of cases. The busy nights were always fun. Loved the AFAST/TFAST workshop and wet lab!
Student dinner was also great, I like that you get to know your students" - Rachel McGowan, 2022
