After graduating from the University of Sydney in 2017, Dr Adheip Prabakaran spent two years in rural Scotland working as a mixed animal practitioner. He later returned to Australia to complete both a rotating internship and a surgical internship, further strengthening his clinical and surgical grounding.
He began his surgical residency with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in early 2023 and has since developed a particular interest in orthopaedic surgery. His main interests include minimally invasive fracture repair and joint replacement, areas in which he’s committed to improving for better patient comfort and long-term mobility.
He is passionate about advancing the field of veterinary surgery through research and education and has presented at various veterinary forums and conferences in Australia and the US.
Outside of work, Adheip is an avid outdoors enthusiast who enjoys hiking, backpacking, gardening and surfing. He lives on the Central Coast with his wife, Anni, and much-loved cat, Olive.
