Jess has been a veterinary nurse for almost 10 years, working across clinics throughout the Central Coast and Hunter regions. She was drawn to emergency and critical care for many years and finds that joining the emergency field has proven to be one of the most rewarding steps in her career.
At home, Jess is kept busy by her two children, along with her three beloved pets: Roxy, an 11-year-old Staffy; Ruby, a five-year-old Great Dane x Mastiff; and Hamish, a 12-year-old domestic short-haired cat.
Jess loves the variety that comes with emergency nursing and finds great fulfilment in advocating for pets when they cannot speak for themselves. Her favourite part of the day is discharge time, when patients are reunited with their families. Seeing the excited greetings and whole-body tail wags never fails to make her smile, and she finds the bond between pets and their owners truly heartwarming.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time outdoors and embracing adventure. Whether it’s camping, four-wheel driving, fishing, or relaxing by the beach, river, lake or dam, she is happiest when surrounded by nature and water.
