I started veterinary nursing whilst at school in 1993. During all this time I have developed a keen interest in animal welfare veterinary anaesthesia, emergency medicine and critical Care.
I have 8 years experience in animal welfare from my role as a veterinary nurse at the RSPCA. I worked in emergency and critical care since 1998 with the last 5 years in a nurse unit manager role where I was involved in recruitment, training and mentoring of nurses and new vets. My role also involved leadership on the floor co-ordinating workflow between reception, vets and nursing and problem solving. I have also worked with people with disabilities and challenging behaviours for approx 6 years and have formal training in successful interacting with this particular group which has been beneficial skill to carry over in this profession.
I enjoy spending time with my partner Rayson, two daughters and three grandsons. I also have a full house with my horse Julian, 4 bassets, cavaliers, cats, 8 alpacas and cockatoo Charlie.
